Working outside the traditional gallery setting, EXILE focuses on the artistic movement B-Ville 2049 whose members explore the nature of silence, censorship, and time.
During the 2009-2010 season, EXILE will present some introductory work, stickering cities with bits and pieces of the B-Ville Manifesto and uploading a selection of the “still” videos of B-Ville co-founder Genevieve de Parnier whose art interrogates classical forms of painting including the portrait and still life.
In conjunction with her work, EXILE is also sponsoring an international series of performances based on de Parnier’s “Woman as sphinx” video.
